Chante Roach
Counsellor for Children & Young Adults
About Me
Hi, I’m Chante Roach. As a qualified Psychodynamic counsellor, my passion is supporting children and young people as they navigate their emotional worlds. My journey started with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Counselling, followed by a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children in many different settings. These experiences have taught me how to listen deeply and adapt to the unique needs of every child I meet.
My Approach
I work with children and young adults aged 5 to 25. My approach is entirely client-led, which means your child is in the driver’s seat; they decide what to focus on in each session, whether that is through talking, creative art, or play. To help them feel safe and secure, I focus on providing a consistent “space” for them. This means we try to meet at the same time and in the same room each week, creating a dependable routine where they can truly feel contained and supported.
How I can help
Psychodynamic therapy is about understanding the “why” behind how we feel by looking at how past experiences might be affecting your child today. Since words aren’t always enough, I use play therapeutically as a gentle, natural language for children. This allows them to explore and express their feelings in a way that feels comfortable to them, helping to build emotional resilience and confidence as they navigate life’s challenges.
Ultimately, our work together is about building self-awareness. By connecting the dots between their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, your child can begin to understand themselves better. It’s a journey of discovery that brings hidden feelings into the light, helping them find a clearer, more comfortable path forward.
How to Book
If you are interested in starting this journey with us, getting started is simple— please email Admin@wholechildtherapy.com. Once you express interest, your request will be passed to Chante. She will then get in touch to arrange an introductory call to discuss your child’s specific needs and agree on a convenient date and time for an initial meeting.
Following our initial assessment, if everyone feels happy and comfortable with the plan, we can then look to book in your child’s regular sessions.
